Time to Be Adorable!

This morning Mr. Munch got up, had a bottle, and went right back to bed for another three hours. Yay! Mama gets to sleep in too!! Once Mama and Mr. Munch were up for the day, it was time for the lunch bottle. Afterwards, Mr. Munch didn't want to let go of his burp rag.
It's so fun to fling around and chew on!

Once Mr. Munch was dressed, he hung out on the floor while Mama got some work done on the computer. Normally when Mr. Munch loses his paci, he fusses until a) Mama puts the paci back in or b) he finds something else to suck on. This time, however, Mama looked over to find Mr. Munch trying to roll over and reach it himself!

What better incentive to roll than a paci?

He almost made it, but got the paci back before he rolled all the way over. Once Munch Daddy got home from work, he and Mr. Munch decided to have some chill time.

*looks innocent* We're not doing anything, honest...

And when they thought Mama wasn't looking, they got into some deep discussions.

Thick as thieves, these two.

Day of Learning

Today was uneventful. Completely and utterly uneventful. So I've decided that today I will have a biology lesson. Our lesson today will be on hemangiomas. They are a fairly common occurrence amongst newborns, yet I had personally never heard of them before the birth of Mr. Munch.

A hemangioma is a collection of blood vessels and cells that are not needed for the basic functions of the human body. They are extra, leftover from when the baby was forming in utero. There are a couple of different kinds. Any kind can be dangerous if located near vital organs or on the head. Mr. Munch's are not dangerous, however, don't worry.

The first is the cavernous hemangioma, or deep hemangioma.
Mr. Munch has had this one since birth.

The next kind is the capillary hemangioma. These are the most common and are on the surface of the body as opposed to the deep hemangioma.

This one developed around week 6.

This one showed up at 2 1/2 weeks.

Multiple pediatricians (and med students) have looked at Mr. Munch's hemangiomas. All are normal, benign, and should disappear or turn into birth marks by age 10 at the latest. None of them are painful or bother Mr. Munch in anyway. They get bigger before they start to shrink and disappear. Mama and Daddy Munch have already noticed this in all of the hemangiomas, so hopefully over the next couple of years they will go away.

Now, for the official cute picture of the day. You know how you feel after a delicious Thanksgiving feast?

Bedtime bottle. Soooo yummy...

Believe it or not, Mr. Munch is sound asleep in this picture. I checked.

Playing With Video

Today we're experimenting with video instead of a picture! Mama caught Mr. Munch chatting when we were working on changing him into his pajamas. It's a fairly average representation of how he talks during the day.

Busy Day

Monday was Munch Daddy's day off, so the Munch family decided to have a day of chillin' in their PJs.
We watched a space documentary.
(EDIT: We really did watch a space documentary and the space PJs were pure coincidence.)

Then Mama and Daddy Munch decided to watch All Dogs Go To Heaven while eating PB&J sandwiches and drinking Capri Suns after Mr. Munch went to bed. He was jealous.

I don't wanna go to bed!!!

Today Mama had a job interview and Daddy had to work, so Mr. Munch spent the morning with Grandma. He decided that watching her fold laundry was boring.

Whatever, Grandma. The bed and I...we're melding.

Then Mama picked up Mr. Munch and the spent the afternoon at the mall until Daddy got out of work. This tired Mr. Munch out, as he had not taken a proper nap all day. Once we got home and got a bottle in him, he was out.

Nothing better than a trusty swing and a comfy blanket after a long day.

The Napping House

Today was Daddy's day to feel under the weather. He and Mr. Munch spent most of the day napping. We've had a breakthrough with Mr. Munch's sleeping habits, however. He managed to fall asleep while on his back and not swaddled, not once....

So much for just setting you there for a second...

But twice!!

When you are tired enough, you'll fall asleep no matter what.

Later in the evening, Mr. Munch got a much needed bath. Afterwards, he spent some time in a very comfy towel.

Oh hello!

So Much Time at Home

There are only so many ways that I can say "We did nothing". Now that we're getting into a routine, it seems like that is all I have to say. Ah well, who can argue with cute pictures?!

Mr. Munch is working very hard at sitting up. He likes to sit on Mama or Daddy's leg and check out the world. Today on Mama's lap, he was able to pull himself upright from a slightly reclined position. Those baby crunches are going to give him a little six pack pretty soon!

This afternoon the batteries on the swing went out and it was nap time before Mama had a chance to send Daddy to get more. The result is our letter C picture!
C is for Cuddling Catnaps.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a more eventful post (in a good way...*knock on wood* I don't want a cranky baby!).

Not Feeling Creative

This morning was a cool morning spent cuddling and napping while Daddy was at work. Mr. Munch had his morning nap in his crib instead of his swing. Mama laid him in the crib flat, but he soon decided that he was more comfortable with his diaper bum in the air.

So comfy, he doesn't even need a paci.

Once Daddy got out of work, he came and picked up Mama and Mr. Munch so that Mama could get her new glasses! Once we got home, our friends L and J came over. Mr. Munch got chatty and veeery drooly!

Yeah, I'm soaking my onsie. What're you gonna do about it?

Feeling Better

Yesterday Mr. Munch and Mama were both feeling under the weather. While Daddy was at work, they hung out in bed playing Scrabble, folding laundry, and listening to music.
The best thing for sick babies is cuddling in bed with Mama.

Worst Scrabble opponent ever...

After a couple of hours, it was nap time. Both Mama and Mr. Munch spent the day napping and hydrating. (Daddy took some video of Mr. Munch and Mama have a deep, lively conversation, but the mic wasn't working properly, so there's no sound. We hope to capture another video of baby chatter in the next day or two.) It paid off and today everybody went to the mall.

Daddy was working, but Mama and Mr. Munch spent the morning strolling around. We ran into a few friends and hung out with others. Daddy joined us after he got out of work and the Munch Family enjoyed some leisurely time together. Unfortunately, Mama forgot to take pictures...

During yesterday's 'conversation' with Mr. Munch, Mama tried a new sound to entertain him. Taken from her time in choir, lip buzzing was performed repeatedly and Mr. Munch seemed enthralled. Today while having some quality time at the mall, Mama repeated the lip buzzing for Mr. Munch who tried, then succeeded to mimic the sound himself! Hooray for brain development that is also intensely adorable!

Perfect Weather

Today Mr. Munch woke up, had a bottle, and decided to be awake for a little while. When he has mornings like that, he often cuddles in bed with Mama and Daddy until he's sleepy enough to go back to his own bed for a little longer. Mama had to clean out the bottle, so started out cuddling with Daddy.
Contemplating morning thoughts.

After everybody had gotten to sleep in for a little bit longer, the Munch family spent some quality time together. Mr. Munch grabbed a quick snooze in his swing, then he and Mama took a walk to the library and the grocery store while Daddy played video games with Uncle I.

Contemplating afternoon thoughts.

Later in the evening, Mama and Mr. Munch went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a visit. Mr. Munch got to chat with Grandma before falling asleep.

A Day For Friends

Last night Mr. Munch spent his first full night in his crib! While getting him to bed took a little doing, he slept all night once he was asleep.
Mom, I look ridiculous in these socks...

Since this morning was a cool one, Mama decided to make sure Mr. Munch knows what baseball team he supports.

The zipper is so tasty!

Mama and Daddy had some friends coming over for video games and hanging out, so Daddy went to the store to make sure we had enough supplies. (We ran out of ranch for the baby carrots! Oh no!) On his way back, Daddy stopped by the florist to surprise Mama.

Special delivery for Mommy!

Mr. Munch had a difficult time falling asleep in his bedroom again tonight. Fingers crossed that he gets used to the room soon.

Missed it by that much...

Grr, I missed posting on Sunday by mere minutes!
Mr. Munch had a cranky day today. Lots of eating, sleeping, and cuddling ensued, so Mama believes that we're at growth spurt time. The apartment was chilly this morning, so Mama put Mr. Munch in his Cuddlesaurus outfit, complete with dino feet!
Rawr! Cuddle my cuteness!

The feet were replaced with socks and the hat was discarded, but this was the only non-cranky picture of the day. Here's hoping that tomorrow's better.

Day with Daddy

This morning Mama and Grandma went to the farmer's market and ran other errands around town. Mr. Munch hung out with Daddy all day.
Hanging out on his bedroom floor.

Once Mama got home, the Munch family sat around in the living room. Mama snapped green beans for dinner, Daddy cleaned, and Mr. Munch looked cute and drooled.

More jailbird stripes!

These windpants feel so fun!!

Enjoying the Weather

So yesterday was a PJ day. Mama and Mr. Munch set out to spend their entire day in their PJs. Mr. Munch succeeded. Mama got dressed because we ended up going over to Grandma and Grandpa's.

Hanging out with Uncle M.

Passed out on Grandma. She's so comfy!

Today was Daddy's day off, so the Munch family got bundled up and we went to the farmer's market!

Mr. Munch was cozy in his bear suit.

On the way home, Mr. Munch fell asleep. Daddy carried him upstairs and put him in his crib. For the first time, Mr. Munch slept on his back without being swaddled! It only lasted a half hour, but it's progress and Mama is so proud!

Hey, whatever is comfortable, right?

Too bad Mr. Munch is too little to enjoy the fresh corn, green beans, and blueberries that Mama bought. Oh well, maybe next summer!

(Special shout-out to Munchicle M. for the wonderful pictures for yesterday! Mama was a slacker and forgot to take some.)

Too Cute Not to Love

After going to bed 3 hours after his normal bedtime, you would think that Mr. Munch would have slept longer than usual. This was not the case. At 9:30 sharp this morning, Mama Munch was woken by, not crying, but this -
It's so funny!

That's right. Bright eyed and bushy tailed, Mama Munch was woken by talking and laughter. I tried to be mad. It didn't work. The day ended up being a cool one, so Mr. Munch got to try on some of his new clothes!

What'choo lookin' at?!

Caught up!

We've had a fun day here at Casa Munch. We started our lazy day with a visit from our wonderful at home nurse. After being weighed and measured, she has declared that not only is Mr. Munch in the 95th percentile for weight, he's off the charts for height!
It's deja vu for Mr. Munch.

Once the nurse left, the Munch family all took naps. It was a wonderful experience for Mama and Daddy Munch to nap during the day, but unfortunately they had adult things to do (work for Daddy and cleaning for Mama) so their naps were shorter than Mr. Munch's. After Daddy went to work, Mama and Mr. Munch hung out and listened to some music while playing on the floor. Mama decided to let Mr. Munch have a new sensory experience, so he got to have some naked play time! On some towels, of course...

Who knew being naked was so much fun!

After Mr. Munch got a diaper back on, the rest of the day was spent cuddling. Mr. Munch enjoyed it so much that he didn't want to stay asleep at bedtime (thanks to the loooong afternoon nap that he doesn't normally take), so cuddling was extended for a few hours afterwards.

So sleepy and yet so content.

Yesterday's Update

Alright, so today will be the day with two posts. Mama had the opportunity to do her weekly grocery shopping sans Mr. Munch, so she took it.

Yesterday Mr. Munch got a lot of clothes from his second cousin (who has outgrown them). Because of this, Mama got her letter B picture!
B is for "Beary" cute Baby in a Big ol' Box

Later Mama and Mr. Munch had a staring contest while Mr. Munch was chillin' in his Bumbo. Mama lost cause her phone rang.

Pro at staring.

Back in Action

Alrighty! The schedule has worked itself out, so hopefully there should be no more interruptions any time soon. To get you caught up, however, there are going to be two posts today. Yesterday's picture is on my computer already. Today's is not.

Yesterday Mama and Mr. Munch spent the day at Grandma and Grandpa's while Daddy was at work. Being well behaved and entertaining was hard work, so Mr. Munch needed to take a nap.
Face-planted into the Pack N' Play, but he's out cold.

Then Daddy joined us for dinner (Mama treated everybody to honey-glazed pork chops with salad and rolls). We were hoping to stay and play computer games with the Munchicles, but Mr. Munch's bedtime came first.

Preview: Next post will have the picture for the letter B!! I hope to be able to update that in the next few hours.

Lazy Day

Today was very uneventful. Mr. Munch slept a lot today and quietly hung out with Mama for the rest of the evening. He joined Mama and Daddy for a dinner date (with a bottle instead of a beer) and now Daddy is trying to put him to bed.
Just chillin' with mah keyz yo.

Doctor's Office

Today was a good day all around. Everybody was in a good mood, the day was beautiful, and the Munch Family got to spend it together all day! Mr. Munch had his 2 month appointment with the doctor today. He is 12 pounds, 9 ounces (+ 4 pounds, 3 ounces) and he measures 24 inches long (+ 4 inches).
It's chilly without a onsie on.

Dr. Ron checked Mr. Munch and answered Mama and Daddy Munch's questions. Prognosis: Mr. Munch is healthy and growing like he should!

Dr. Ron, checking the ol' ticker!

Once Mr. Munch was looked over, it was time for his shots. He was a real champ and had stopped crying by the time he got to the car. Despite grim predictions of a cranky baby, Mr. Munch was a pretty mellow dude for the rest of the day. After the doctor's office, the family stopped by the mall.

Mr. Munch likes rollin' comfy in his stroller!

We ran into many friends, including some that we weren't expecting to see. After finishing the day at home with Mama and Daddy, Mr. Munch was ready for bed.

Playing Catch Up

We're back! After a couple of days off, there are a lot of pictures to catch up on. I've chosen the best ones for today.
I'm going to be starting a photo challenge for myself during this blog. It's an alphabet challenge. A picture will be taken representing each letter of the alphabet, posted every day or two. Starting with
A for Astronaut

Mr. Munch finally decided that he was ok with taking a different brand of pacifier. He also decided that Mama was the best place to take a nap.

Mama shifted a little to take a picture and Mr. Munch didn't appreciate his nap being disturbed.

Yesterday Mr. Munch got dressed up nice and cozy in some new footy pajamas. Mama thought they were adorable until she put them on and realized that they made Mr. Munch look like he had just broken out of a chain gang. Grandma and Grandpa agreed later that day when Mama and Mr. Munch stopped by for a visit.

He's on the lam!

Today Mr. Munch decided that his clothes needed to live up to who he really is!

Stating the obvious one onsie at a time.

Then Mr. Munch spent some time in his rarely used crib so that it's not a totally strange place when he starts sleeping in there in the next couple of weeks. There wasn't much to look at, so Mama stole one of Daddy's shoelaces and got creative with Mr. Munch's toys.

So much fun stuff to look at now!

We topped off the afternoon with a walk to the store and back, then Mr. Munch fell asleep in his swing. We've had a busy and fun past couple of days!
