Growing Quickly

This weekend the Munch Family spent some quality time together indoors while watching the snow fall. While waiting for Mama to find some pajamas after a bath, Mr. Munch used the down time to practice his ballet moves.

Gotta try everything to find what you love.

Mr. Munch also got the "OK" from Dr. Ron to start using sippy cups!

Ok, so...how do I use this again?

For dinner this evening, Mr. Munch consumed his first full 4oz jar of baby food! Normally he stops after 2 or 3 ounces.

Yummy carrots!

This week Mr. Munch will get to have his two little teeth brushed for the first time. Stay tuned!

Braindead

Mama is still trying to get the hang of a homework schedule that gives her time to post before falling into bed at night, so I do apologize (again) for the tardy posts.

Mr. Munch points an accusing finger at the camera.

This week Mr. Munch got to go to the doctor's for his 6 month shots. He is now weighing in at 17 pounds, 12 ounces and measuring 27 1/2 inches long! He's also been experiencing some new textures.

Crinkly things are his favorite.

He also has been practicing sitting up. He still tips over sometimes, but can now sit unsupported!

Look out, John Williams! Mr. Munch is in town!

And having dominated the world of music, Mr. Munch moves on to greater aspirations.

Homework Day

Yesterday was a relaxing day for the Munch Family. There had been reports of snowy conditions on Friday night that had the possibility of being a blizzard, so the family had stocked up on food and formula and was ready to ride out the weekend at home. There was no blizzard, but that didn't change plans. Mr. Munch even got to play with a colorful, crinkly candy wrapper...until Daddy wanted to eat his candy.

Umm...I don't think this is part of my provision pack...

Who says babies are unintelligent? It took Mr. Munch approximately 17 seconds to figure out that waving gets a reaction from Mama and Daddy. Then he continued to test this theory all night, giving Mama a prime opportunity to catch it on video!

They're like puppets! Dance, minions, dance!

This morning Mr. Munch was being prepared for his diaper change, but was determined to make it as difficult as possible by twisting and turning and grabbing his diaper and chewing on his toes...Mama finally got fed up and grabbed the only toy within arms length of the changing table; Colleen! Not only did it succeed in distracting Mr. Munch long enough for Mama to change his diaper, but he also kept a firm grasp on his friend through his bottle and on into his nap.

BFFs yo.

Today's post is earlier than usual because Mama and Daddy have to spend the rest of the day studying and finishing homework. Here's a prescription for the video above. Watch it as many times as needed and we'll see you tomorrow!

The Tag

Today Mama and Mr. Munch hung out in bed while Daddy went to class. Mama got up for a couple of seconds to get the mail and came back to find...

Mr. Munch sending his first text.

That's right, while Mama was gone, Mr. Munch got ahold of her phone and managed to respond to a text with, "Bh&;k" to his Auntie J.

While he was hanging out in his exersaucer, Mama handed him some of his Christmas toys. He was having loads of fun until Mama wanted a picture. Cue the "OMGit'sacamera!" face that makes up most of the pictures I take. ^_^

OMGit'sacamera!

Aaaaand what's the most fun toy on the playmat??

The tag!!!!

[REMOVED]

This blog actively and openly protests PIPA and SOPA. For more information and access to the online petition, please...

Internet censorship makes Mr. Munch a sad baby.

Mama has been putting Gerber Puffs into the tray on Mr. Munch's exersaucer to give him practice picking up little things with his fingers. He has progressed from not being able to grab them to being able to pick them up and bring his hand to his mouth within the last 6 days. He has yet to successfully transfer a Puff into his mouth, but practice makes perfect. Until then, the chest is a wonderful spot to place a sticky snack!

It's close enough, right? Yeah.

Great Way to Procrastinate! (I'm kidding...)

Mama and Daddy Munch have been getting back into the swing of things at school and Mr. Munch has been a real trooper through all of the schedule changes. Even still, this new lifestyle has the whole family tuckered out by the end of the day. One of the great things about Mondays is that Mr. Munch and Munch Daddy get a few hours to have male bonding time while Mama is still at school.

It's bedtime for everybody.

On Tuesdays, though, it's Mama and Munch time. Mr. Munch decided to take over so Mama could get some homework done.

I got this...

Hiatus-Shmatus

Ok, we're going to do a quick recap of the past week and a half (sorry!).

First, Mama found a pair of 90s themed jammies. Auntie A. stopped by to admire them...
Still cute!

Mama has been playing Oblivion (a video game) lately. Every once in a while her character has to play a mini-game to unlock doors and chests. Mr. Munch watches...

Do it...do it...

Yeah!

At least she has one fan. Mama and Daddy have started school again. Two days a week Mr. Munch heads out to Grandma's house.

His favorite activity...

Is car watching....

He's getting better about taking naps, especially at other people's houses.

Tummy sleeping has become a new favorite.

The two school days that he does not go to Grandma's house, Mr. Munch visits school with Mama and Daddy for a little bit. He decided to try some performance art depicting the traditional college student.

Catching some Zzzz's in the cafeteria.

Bunny has become a permanent fixture in Mr. Munch's crib.

The best cuddle bunny ever!

Mr. Munch is also starting to find toys in every day objects like bags...

It's...so...crunchy...

And laptop keys...

I can make it go click click too!

We've been spending time hanging out with a neighboring family lately. They have a daughter who is 3 months younger than Mr. Munch.

All that noise is coming out of something that little?!

This weekend Mama and Mr. Munch visited Daddy at work. Before heading out to shop for new clothes, the Munch Family stopped at the food court for lunch. Mr. Munch got to sit at the table too!

Can I have some of your food, Mom?

Happy New Year!

I was hoping to have this posted by Tuesday, but alas my pictures wouldn't load fast enough. Therefore, you may expect another post this evening to catch you up on Wednesday's planned outing.

This post is to catch you up on the New Year weekend. Now, I know what you're thinking. "Mama, this is not a good way to start the new year. You've already broken your resolution!" I know, I know. *hangs head* But what wasn't done, well, it wasn't done. So moving right along. On December 31st, 2011 Mama and Daddy had some friends over to celebrate the new year. While Mr. Munch stayed up waaaaay past his bedtime, he was passed out before midnight. On January 1, 2012 the Munch family went to visit family on Daddy's side.

Not quite sure what to make of his cousin (who is making funny faces).

When dinner time came, Mr. Munch was giving Daddy a hard time.

Sike! I'mma eat my bib instead!

Oh all right. Mama's glaring at me so I guess I'll have a bite...of my bib! Haha, got you again!

The next was a chill and unwind day for the Munch Family. Because Daddy's classes start this week (kind of...one class on Friday...) his work schedule is extremely minimal, so we enjoyed having him around the house! Playtime has gotten rather silly sometimes these past few days.

Is that a monkey?

This is what I do to cheeky monkeys!
(He was taking great pleasure in whipping the monkey around by it's hair.)

This morning Mr. Munch came into bed to help Mama wake Daddy up. He soon got bored, so Mama handed him a Tic Tac box with a couple of candies left inside to shake around. (Yes, he was supervised. No, he didn't get any candy.)

It makes a funny noise when I turn it like this...

I must examine it in full sunshine.

This is so cool!

Mr. Munch has also been working very hard on sitting up all by himself. Though he still has balance issues when he reaches over to grab something, he is enjoying the new freedom that comes with being able to sit up.

I can see everything! Now I'll be sure that I don't miss a thing!
